BIOGRAPHY

Marilyn Manson is an American rock singer and songwriter, born on January 5, 1969 in Canton, Ohio. He is the leader of the band Marilyn Manson, which he founded in 1989. Manson is known for his provocations and is famous for his androgynous appearance and bold stage performances. His albums have often been criticized for their violent and explicitly sexual content, but he has nonetheless managed to attract a wide audience and become one of the most popular artists of his generation. Manson began his career playing in underground rock bands before forming Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids in 1989. The band found success in Florida clubs before signing with Interscope Records in 1993. Their debut album, "Portrait of an American Family," was released in 1994 and was followed by a world tour. Their second album, "Antichrist Superstar," was released in 1996 and propelled the band to international fame. Their third album, "Mechanical Animals," was released in 1998 and solidified their success with the general public. Their fourth album, "Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death)," was released in 2000 and received critical acclaim. Their fifth album, "The Golden Age of Grotesque," was released in 2003 and was a commercial success. Their sixth album, "Eat Me, Drink Me," was released in 2007 and was well received by critics. Their seventh album, "Born Villain," was released in 2012 and was praised by critics. Manson has also published two books, "Holy Wood" (2000) and "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell" (2002).
