BIOGRAPHY
L.A. Style was a Dutch music group that gained success in the 1990s. They are best known for their hit single "James Brown Is Dead", which topped the dance charts in Europe and the United States in 1991. This single helped to bring electronic and techno music into the mainstream. The group consisted of Wessel van Diepen and Michiel van der Kuy. In the years following the release of "James Brown Is Dead", the group released other notable singles but never replicated the massive success of their first hit. Their musical style is a blend of house, techno, and electro, with a distinct touch of Dutch music culture. L.A. Style eventually disbanded in the mid-90s and have not produced any new music since. Despite their premature disappearance, their impact on electronic music is still felt today.
