"Gian Piero is an Italian singer and songwriter born on October 3, 1947, in Genoa. He began his career in 1966 with the group Les Champions, and then continued as a solo artist with hits such as "Une fille comme toi." He gained international success with the songs "Gloria" and "Amico," and was named "Singer of the Year" at the Sanremo Festival in 1970. In 1971, he represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Io non ho paura" and finished 6th. He continued to release albums and singles throughout the 1980s and made a comeback in the 2000s. In 2012, he was inducted into the Italian Music Hall of Fame."
