BIOGRAPHY
Nena is a German singer and musician, born on March 24, 1960, in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia. She is famous for her international hit "99 Luftballons," which topped the music charts in many countries in 1983.
Nena began her musical career in 1977 with the band The Stripes and launched her solo career in 1982. Her first solo album, titled Nena, was released in 1983 and was a huge success in Germany. The following year, she released the album 99 Luftballons, which included her international hit of the same name. This album was successful in Germany and Europe, propelling Nena to international stardom.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Nena released several albums, including Some Hearts (1984), Willst du mit mir gehn (1985), Wunder gescheh'n (1989), and Die neue Welt (1992). She also released two English albums, It's All in the Game (1986) and Don't Be Afraid (1993).
Nena made a comeback in the music scene in 2002 with the album Nena feat. Nena, which was a success in Germany. She followed this with several other albums, such as Made in Germany (2005), Cover Me (2007), Oldschool (2009), and Made in Germany Live (2011).
Nena is engaged in various causes, including environmental protection, animal rights, and the fight against racism. She also advocates for peace and tolerance.
