Isabelle Yasmina Adjani is a French actress and singer, born on June 27, 1955, in Paris. She is regarded as one of the greatest French actresses of her generation, having won five César Awards, including Best Actress in 1980 for "Possession", Best Supporting Actress in 1983 for "Quartet" by Adrian Lyne and in 1996 for "Queen Margot" by Patrice Chéreau, as well as Best Newcomer Award in 1974 for "Going Places" by Bertrand Blier. She is also the only actress to have received two César Awards for Best Foreign Film, in 1981 for "Possession" and in 2000 for "Les Misérables".
