BIOGRAPHY

Alan Parson's Project is a British progressive rock band from London, England. It was formed in 1975 by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. The band had limited commercial success outside of the UK, but had a considerable impact on pop and rock music. Their first album, Tales of Mystery and Imagination (1976), is a conceptual take on Edgar Allan Poe's work. The next album, I Robot (1977), included their biggest commercial hit, "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You." The third album, Pyramid (1978), was a commercial and critical success, certified gold in the US. The fourth album, Eve (1979), had less commercial success but received favorable reviews. The fifth album, The Turn of a Friendly Card (1980), was a commercial and critical success, certified gold in the US. The sixth album, Eye in the Sky (1982), was a commercial and critical success, certified platinum in the US. The seventh album, Ammonia Avenue (1984), had less commercial success but received favorable reviews. The eighth album, Vulture Culture (1985), had less commercial success but received favorable reviews. The ninth album, Gaudi (1987), had limited commercial success but received favorable reviews. The tenth album, Try Anything Once (1993), had limited commercial success but received favorable reviews. The eleventh album, On Air (1996), had limited commercial success but received favorable reviews. The twelfth album, A Valid Path (2004), had limited commercial success but received favorable reviews.
