Markus Schulz is an American trance music producer and DJ. He is also the owner of the music label Coldharbour Recordings. He was born on February 3, 1975 in Eschwege, Germany. Before pursuing a musical career, he studied classical music and composition at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In 2001, he released his first album, "Adina Butar", under the name Markus Schulz. The album was well received by critics and topped the trance music charts in Germany. In 2003, he released his second album, "Progression", which also received critical acclaim. In 2005, he released his third album, "Without You Near", which topped the trance music charts in Germany. In 2007, he released his fourth album, "Do You Dream?", which also topped the trance music charts in Germany. In 2009, he released his fifth album, "Prague '09", which topped the trance music charts in Germany.
