Schoolboy Q, whose real name is Quincy Matthew Hanley, is an American rapper and producer born on October 26, 1986 in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in the Watts neighborhood and began his career in 2006 as a member of the Black Hippy collective, alongside Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. In 2012, he released his first solo album, Setbacks, which reached number one on the Billboard rap chart. His second album, Oxymoron, was released in 2014 and reached number one on the Billboard 200. He released his third album, Blank Face LP, in 2016 and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Rap Album.
