BIOGRAPHY
René Kuppens (born October 21, 1963) is a Belgian musician, composer, and music producer.
Born in Hasselt, Belgium, Kuppens began playing piano at the age of six and went on to study musical theory and composition at the Royal Conservatory of Liège. After completing his studies, he worked as a composer, arranger, and producer for various artists and television projects. In the early 1990s, he co-founded the electronic music duo Silhouette (with Dirk Daenen), with whom he released three albums.
In 2001, Kuppens released his debut solo album, "Songs for the Sleepless," followed by "The Blue Hour" in 2003. His third album, "Invisible Cities," was released in 2006.
Kuppens has composed music for various films and television shows, including the Belgian film "The Memory of a Killer" (2003) and the American television series "Breaking Bad" (2008-2013). He has also produced and remixed tracks for several artists, including Yello, Moby, and Neneh Cherry.
Kuppens currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
