Haddaway is a musical artist from Trinidad and Tobago, known for his international hit "What Is Love," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993. Born on October 18, 1965 in Port-of-Spain, Haddaway began his musical career playing reggae in his hometown's clubs. He signed with the label Coconut Records in 1991 and released his first single, "What Is Love," in 1992. The single was a major international success, reaching the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in 1993. His first album, The Album, was released the same year and was certified platinum by the RIAA. Following the success of his first album, Haddaway released several more albums that did not match the same level of success. He has appeared on various reality TV shows and has also acted in musicals, including in Mamma Mia!. In 2019, he released his sixth album, The Best of Haddaway.
