Playahitty is an Italian pop music group founded in 1991. The group consists of four members: Francesco Bontempi (vocals, keyboards), Stefano Coviello (guitar), Andrea deidda (bass) and Cristiano deidda (drums). The group achieved some success in Italy and Europe with their single "The summer is magic", which reached number one on the charts in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The group also won the prestigious "Best Italian Act" award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 1995. The group has released six studio albums, one of which was certified gold in Italy. Their latest album, "Nel cuore nell'anima", was released in 2009. In 2019, the group announced that they would reunite for a tour in Europe to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their single "The summer is magic".
