BIOGRAPHY
The Korgis were a British new wave band that was active in the early 1980s. The band's name was a play on the name of the Japanese electronic musical instrument company, Korg. Their most famous hit single was "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime", which reached #5 on the UK Singles Chart in 1980.
Formed in 1977 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Andy Davis and singer/songwriter/keyboardist James Warren, The Korgis released their self-titled album in 1978, followed by Dumb Waiters in 1979. The band's third album, Sticky George, was released in 1980.
"Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime", a song co-written by Davis and Warren, was released in 1980 and reached #5 in the UK Singles Chart, as well as #1 in several other countries. The band disbanded in 1982, but Davis and Warren have worked together on occasion since, including on The Lost Tapes, a new album released in 2017.
