Rita Lee is a Brazilian singer and musician, born on December 29, 1947 in Niterói, in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
In the 1960s, Rita Lee was a member of the rock group Os Mutantes, considered one of the most important groups in the history of Brazilian music. The group disbanded in 1978, and Rita Lee began a solo career. She has recorded over 30 albums and has participated in numerous music projects.
Rita Lee is considered one of the most influential singers and musicians in Brazil. In 2009, Time magazine named her among the 100 most influential women in the world.
