BIOGRAPHY
Nick Straker is a British singer, bassist, and music producer, born on June 4, 1951, in London.
After being a bassist in several rock bands, Straker formed the Nick Straker Band in 1977. The group had some success with the singles "A Walk in the Park" and "Straight Ahead," which reached the charts in Britain and Europe.
In 1980, Straker released his first solo album, Straight Ahead, which was a success in Europe. He later released two more albums, No Turning Back (1982) and Heart on the Line (1984).
In the mid-1980s, Straker left the music industry to focus on his career as a television producer. He produced several television shows, including The Bill, EastEnders, and Casualty.
In 2000, Straker returned to music with the album The Best of Nick Straker, which was a success in Europe. He later released two more albums, The Very Best of Nick Straker (2001) and The Hits (2002).
In 2010, Straker was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He passed away on June 1, 2011, in London.
