El DeBarge (born Eldra Patrick DeBarge on June 5, 1961) is an American singer of R&B, soul, and pop. He is the lead singer of the soul-funk family group DeBarge. After the group's success in the 1980s, El DeBarge began a solo career in the 1990s. His solo album Rhythm of the Night (1985) reached number one on the Billboard 200 and is certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He has sold over 4 million albums in the United States.
